κλούβιος 1) rotten, 2) stupid
The word collocates with αυγό as in κλούβιο αυγό meaning a rotten egg. In this case it is not used metaphorically in the way ‘bad egg’ is used in English to describe a wicked or unpleasant person, which in Greek would be αυτός είναι κακιάς κοπής.
Its second meaning is ‘stupid’ or ‘empty-headed’. Babiniotis gives this example: έχει μυαλό κλούβιο and tells us that it means είναι ανεπίδεκτος μαθήσεως = he is ineducable.
Βικιλεξικό provides us with this expression: το μάτι σου το κλούβιο for poking fun at someone who has failed to understand something.
Finally, a word search never fails to surprise. Κλούβιος was, along with Σουβλίτσα, one of a pair of dolls which were very popular in the 70s. From a brief look at related articles, I think they might be collectors’ items nowadays.
