25/014 Life in Northern Greece – Autumn is here and femicide continues.

The temperature has dropped and it’s raining. I think we can kiss summer goodbye.

The one-a-month femicide average is not abating. Earlier this month in our fair city, a brother strangled his older half-sister with a supermarket plastic bag. I say ‘strangled’ and not ‘suffocated’ because he did not put the bag over the victim’s head. Instead, he turned the bag into an improvised noose – αυτοσχέδιο βρόχο από νάιλον σακούλα – and choked her. The woman, who had suffered from a stroke, was allowed to leave hospital that day. The brother took her home and put an end to her life. The story is here: https://share.google/Zf7XynIUA83JOrSoB

I just wonder if the big supermarkets (Masoutis, AB, Sklavanitis) will use the incident to boast about the strength and durability of their bags.
