On the plus side, we have been practising and, hopefully, improving. Unfortunately, we have failed so far to attract more interest from other musicians. The session will go ahead as planned on 29th February in Riley’s Irish Bar, Peraia, but it looks as if it will be limited to my three comrades and me as far as playing goes. I was hoping to get around seven musicians.
Having said all that, Greece is full of surprises. Believe it or not, there is a 5-day St. Patrick’s festival (13th – 17th March inclusive) in … wait for it … Grevena. It is more of a cultural than a musical festival. There will be films, literature, cookery, music and a religious service. Grevena is a small town with about 13,000 people, yet the organisers have managed to hold this festival every year since 2015. Μπράβο τους!! We’re hoping to do a slot on Sunday, 15th March.
