Irish Music Scene Episode 6

Covid 19 and the general shutdown of daily life have put my blogging on hold. I continue to practise almost daily, but I prefer to practise with a goal. I’m trying to learn reels that I ought to know and ought to have known for decades but never got round to learning them. I’m too ashamed to name them as my street cred as a fiddler would be really diminished! One tune that I am learning right now is a 4-part hornpipe called The Second Star.  Great for intermediate players as it adds life to arpeggios, crossing all four strings. Here it is: http://www.folktunefinder.com/tunes/188052 and here it is played by the great Dezi Donnelly: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_DHCvUlAQ_E

I saw this on YouTube yesterday. Maybe this is a way out of “Covidisolation”: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IT56J9T21KU
